LX-F6 in Caribbean

LX-F6 in Caribbean

Premier Entertainment Services (PES), the Caribbean distributor for Lynx Pro Audio, in August 2011, procured a Lynx LX-F6 Line Array System on behalf of the Portmore Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  Located at Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica, it is the largest Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Caribbean, with a seating capacity of 3,500 persons.  The sound reinforcement system is for use in their worship services.

PES with assistance from Lynx Pro Audio used the Rainbow design software to determine the design and specifications of the system recommended in its tender document dated May 2011.

The system purchased, consists of six per side LX-F6 and LX-F6P speakers with four per side QB-D6 under balcony fill speakers and two LX-218S subwoofers.   An ARK-7048 Processor is used for control.

The Church’s acoustics have quite a bit of reverberation so it was important to install a system to counteract this as best as possible.  The area of the sanctuary is 150 feet in length by 80 feet in width and 40 feet high at its apex.

The installation was completed in November 2011 by PES under the direction of Michael Spence, Chief Sound Engineer and Managing Director.

Amongst the visitors, the following comments are available:

Gunnar Naas, Managing Director of Pro stage, Lynx’s distributor for Norway said,

“I knew the system would sound good and the demonstration left me more than satisfied . There is so much pressure coming from those boxes and the sound is so clear. Lynx have designed a very special line array with the LX-V12”.

“It’s like a wall of sound with tremendous sound pressure hitting you. This is the first time I heard such a large system to play as loud but still have such a comfortable and defined sound. A big system for the big boys!”

Gunnar Naas, Pro Stage, Norway

“we are impressed. 135 dB at 22m distance is outstanding and there are no signs of the system being at its limit. The clarity and precision of the V12 is impressive. An extremelly well performing system. The LX-V12 is loud, clear and very easy to use. The demonstration more than fullfiled our expectations.”

Henning Lodberg, LydBureaut, Denmark

LX-V8 for Indian Worship Festival

LX-V8 for Indian Worship Festival

Xion Solutions have supplied a  Lynx Pro Audio LX-V8 Line Array System for Music Splash 2011 held on 11th October at the Kalloor International Stadium, Cochin, India. Music Splash 2011 is a Christian Worship event organized by FLCG, Kerala. The event featured world renowned Christian Worship Leader and song writer Ron Kenoly from USA along with his associate performers. There were approximately thirty thousand atendees to participate in praise & worship along with Ron Kenoly and the team.

Steven, Chief Sound enginner from Xion Solutions says:

“The entire line array system took less than one hour to be erected and configured for the venue. This was made possible primarily due to the Lynx Pro Audio Rainbow prediction software, a powerful software tool that assists the user to rightly assess the system placement and dispersion patterns according to the actual venue measurement and get accurate predictions. On the basis of the predictions from Rainbow software we could configure the ARK processor with its optimal setting. The ARK processors could be configured offline based on the prediction data and then were only required to be uploaded on site for a quick start. The built-in inclinometer is absolutely an asset in making things easy. Once we had specified the number of boxes in the array the inclinometer automatically detected the angle in which the array box was suspended and adjusted the splay angle to set the boxes as far throw, mid throw or short throw, it also did the auto EQ by adjusting the low shelving algorithm for each box. Thus it saved a considerable amount of time in rightly setting up line array system for such a large crowd. “

The sound system for Music Splash 2011 comprised of sixteen boxes of Lynx Pro Audio LX-V8 line array top along with twelve LX-218S subwoofers. The system was configured on Lynx Pro Audio ARK-7044 DSP processor which is a powerful multi process controller with special features such as built in RMS & Peak limiter. For the mixing console Soundcraft Vi series digital mixer was used.

Steven further commented:

“Lynx Pro Audio LX series line array proved to be true to what it claims. The audio quality was outstanding and unbelievable. There was equal dispersion of sound to the extent of 150 meters of audience area. We could also acknowledge the automatic HF compensation feature in the humid Cochin climate, and special thanks to the built in Inclinometer” .
