Located in the heart of Downtown Beirut, the nightclub Cee in Beirut has quickly become one of the city’s premier summer venues. This rooftop lounge bar combines live music, daily DJ sets, and a sophisticated atmosphere with stunning panoramic views of the city.

Designing a professional sound system for a rooftop bar is a highly demanding technical challenge. The environment is constantly changing, with high temperatures, wind, and ambient noise. At the same time, guests expect powerful, immersive, and precise sound that remains clear and consistent throughout long events.

The goal was to deliver even coverage across the entire venue, with both impact and clarity, avoiding dead zones and ensuring a cohesive audio experience for live performances as well as electronic DJ sets. To achieve this, Eltek, the official distributor of Lynx Pro Audio in Lebanon, designed and installed a sound reinforcement system tailored specifically to the unique conditions of Cee Rooftop Lounge Bar.

The system consists of 20 BS-12 cabinets and 6 BS-118 subwoofers, configured to provide uniform coverage, tonal balance, and a linear frequency response across the entire space. This setup maintains a consistent sound level, whether during ambient music sessions or high-intensity performances, without compromising clarity or aesthetic integration.

Main coverage with BS-12

The BS-12 cabinet is a compact enclosure, two-way passive cabinet designed to deliver precise, natural sound for professional sound applications. It features a 12″ speaker with a 3″ voice coil and a 1″ compression driver mounted on a 90° x 60° rotatable horn, providing controlled, even coverage.

With a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz, 96 dB sensitivity, and a maximum SPL of 128 dB, the BS-12 offers reliable performance and excellent intelligibility, even under demanding conditions. Its enclosure, made from 15 mm birch plywood and finished in durable polyurea, ensures long-lasting durability against humidity while blending seamlessly into visible environments.

Low-frequency reinforcement with BS-118

Low-frequency reinforcement is provided by six BS-118 subwoofers, designed to deliver firm, linear support in the bass range. Each cabinets an 18″ driver with a 3″ voice coil and a double-sided treated cone for moisture resistance, mounted in a direct-radiating bass-reflex cabinet.

With a frequency range of 38 Hz to 100 Hz, 98 dB sensitivity, and a maximum SPL of 132 dB, the BS-118 provides powerful, controlled bass—perfect for DJ sets or live performances that demand both impact and depth. Its rugged construction and polyurea coating ensure structural stability and durability under intensive use.

The combination of the BS-12 and BS-118 creates a well-balanced sound system, perfectly suited for a rooftop environment. Special attention was given to ensuring uniform coverage and phase coherence, avoiding dead zones and maintaining consistent sound levels throughout the venue. Cee Rooftop Lounge Bar stands as a example of how a professionally designed sound system can enhance a venue’s identity, seamlessly merging music, atmosphere, and surroundings into an unforgettable guest experience.
