Lynx Pro Audio sound engineer training

Lynx Pro Audio sound engineer training

Millenia utilized the LX-V8 Line Array for their training sessions, providing students with the opportunity to practice, conduct demonstrations, and work on configurations with cutting-edge audio technology. Over the course of five days and 40 hours of hands-on learning, students were not only able to familiarize themselves with the LX-V8 but also had the chance to explore and learn from a range of other Lynx Pro Audio cabinets. These included the self-powered GR-12, the versatile ADP-15, and the powerful GR-18S subwoofer.

The training program was designed to give students a thorough understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of professional sound systems. By working with a variety of Lynx Pro Audio products, participants were able to gain valuable experience in system setup, tuning, and performance optimization, which is crucial for their future careers in audio and sound engineering. The combination of learning through Lynx’s innovative products and expert-led instruction ensured that the students walked away with both the technical skills and confidence to implement these systems in real-world environments.

In addition to the hands-on experience with Lynx Pro Audio products, the training program also focused on the importance of system integration and the technical aspects of sound reinforcement. Students were introduced to advanced techniques for system design, including how to properly deploy line arrays for optimal sound coverage and how to use Lynx’s advanced DSP (digital signal processing) tools to fine-tune the sound to suit different venues and acoustics. This holistic approach not only helped the students understand the capabilities of each individual speaker but also emphasized the importance of configuring them as part of a cohesive system that delivers superior audio performance. By the end of the training, the students were well-equipped with the skills to handle complex sound setups and contribute to professional audio projects with confidence.

Sub-bass cardioid configurations increase the front pressure and directivity, ensuring that rear sound does not spill

on to the stage behind the sub-bass. Seven cardioid configurations are now available for the sub enclosure LX-218S.

With these new configurations you can obtain up to 24 dB of attenuation behind the cabinet between 30Hz and 100Hz,

and between 1 and 1.5 dB more SPL up front.

Here is just one example of the seven configurations, in this case we are using the Mode 6:

modo6c

In this case for A cabinets you have to select the new preset 10 and for B cabinets use the new preset 16.

modo6l

modo6r

In the first image you can see the LX-218S polar response with cardioid Mode 6 at 60 Hz. On the second you have the

same configuration but with the cabinet B muted. You can appreciate the differences behind the enclosures, with a

big attenuation in the first image.

LX-218S

connect your subwoofer to the computer using the Cabinet Updater software using a standard USB cable. You will

have all these new presets available in the DSP core of your cabinet very quickly. And then, from the buttons below
