A Consolidated Benchmark in the Heart of Valencia

Since its opening last September in the historic location of the former “Cines Aragón”, Alegal Story has established itself as the undisputed benchmark for premium leisure in Valencia. The venue presents a unique operational complexity: a dual concept that must function with the excellence of a restaurant signed by chef Dani García and, simultaneously, with the intensity of a high-end club.

In a project where 1920s Art Deco aesthetics and the imagery of New York Prohibition-era clubs dictate the design, the sound system had to be the invisible element binding the experience together. The technical solvency of the installation, precisely executed by the companies Elemtec Audiovisuales and Conexativa, has allowed Lynx Pro Audio technology to integrate seamlessly into the architecture, validating in practice an electroacoustic design that combines the interoperability of multiple series to adapt to each geometry.

Main Room: Coaxial Versatility

The heart of Alegal Story is its central dance floor. Presided over by a grand fireplace and the DJ booth, this space requires extreme versatility to transition from high-fidelity background music during dinner to high Sound Pressure Levels (SPL) in club mode.

To ensure homogeneous coverage without blind spots, a distribution based on a coaxial point source was implemented:

  • Main Sound System: 15 CPS-210P units and 9 CPS-214P units were installed. Their coaxial design provides uniformly distributed dispersion throughout the room, offering homogeneous coverage, which is vital for maintaining vocal clarity in the restaurant and the necessary power for the club.
  • Subwoofer reinforcement: Punch is guaranteed through a hybrid configuration. 4 CLS-218SP (dual 18″) units were assigned to the main dance floor, while the VIP perimeter ring was reinforced with 4 CPS-18SP units and 1 CLS-118SP unit.
  • DJ Set: System comprising 3 CLS-28 units in a ground-stack configuration over two CLS-118S subwoofers per channel.

Tribunes and “The Veil”: The Reinvention of the Amphitheatre

The upper floor preserves the morphology of the old cinema, transforming the original seating tiers into the venue’s most coveted area. Here, the architecture defines two distinct sound experiences requiring a specific coverage design:

  • Central Tribune: This corresponds to the frontal location with a direct view of the booth. The technical objective was to maintain the club’s sound pressure level (SPL) in the foreground, without relying on the main floor PA to avoid acoustic delays. HR Series enclosures (2 HR-208/96 units and 4 HR-206/96 units) were implemented, ensuring high vocal and instrumental definition at the VIP tables. Low-frequency extension was resolved by integrating 1 HR-18/10 subwoofer for each VIP zone, optimising acoustic coupling without compromising the operational space of the private areas.

  • The Corner: In the lateral areas, designed as semi-private booths, the priority was to maintain a flat frequency response at lower pressure levels to facilitate conversation. For this acoustic fill, 2 CPS-210P coaxial enclosures backed by 1 CLS-118S subwoofer were integrated, ensuring precise directivity control in a near-field environment.

“The Chapel”: Power in Clandestinity

The venue’s best-kept secret is “The Church”, a hidden VIP room behind a passageway in the restrooms, featuring crypt-style vaulted ceilings. To tame the vault’s acoustics and offer direct sound in this private environment, a specific solution was designed:

Transit Zones and Restrooms: The Party Continues

At Alegal, the restrooms are an extension of the social area and a key “Instagrammable” spot. To maintain the sound narrative in the corridors and communal mirror areas, total continuity was ensured.

DSP Management and Amplification

The electroacoustic stability of the venue depends on rigorous processing. The entire system is amplified and processed through the Lynx Pro Audio GTX power amplifier. This allows centralised DSP (Digital Signal Processing) management, including the application of corrective filtering, strict time alignment of all zones relative to the origin point (DJ), and dynamic limitation to protect the transducers during prolonged use at maximum SPL.

Months after its opening, Alegal Story demonstrates that the collaboration between solid product engineering and professional installation is the key to success. The interoperability of the CPS, HR, CLS, KR, IXP, and BS enclosures, managed under the GTX amplification environment within the same ecosystem, has allowed every acoustic challenge to be solved with the precise tool.
